Training: Electronics technician for devices and systems, specialising in information and communication technology devices
Communications electronics technicians work in the field of communications and information technology. They are responsible for the manufacture, assembly and operational reliability of devices, equipment and systems in the field of radio, telecommunications and information technology.
Duration of training
3½ years, shortening possible depending on previous school education (e.g. 1 year BGJ Electrical Engineering).
Requirements
The majority of trainees recruited are those with an intermediate school leaving certificate and a subsequent school education in the electrotechnical field.
Vocational school
1-2 times a week, depending on the duration of the training.

Exams
Intermediate examination in the spring of the 2nd year of training.
Final examination in the winter of the last year of training (after 3½ years).
Activities
Manufacturing, testing, measuring, adapting, maintaining, commissioning and servicing devices, equipment and systems in the field of information and data technology, such as file and output systems, data processing and the associated control and regulating equipment. These activities are primarily carried out independently in production in quality assurance in the test field, in the construction of test equipment, in development and customer service in operational maintenance and in the assembly of plants and systems, in compliance with the relevant progress and safety regulations, according to documents and instructions.
